Core Work is Both Soft and Strong

When I’m working with women who want to connect with their core after carrying and delivering babies, I first like to establish that the core is a robust system designed to respond to the demands of our life.

The system is already in place, often what we need is an awareness of our tendencies and the appropriate tools to bring more balance. A balanced system considers both the strong and soft qualities of our center.

Many of us find ourselves on one of two ends of the spectrum:
1) a lack of connection with muscle tissue in the trunk or
2) an abdominal wall that’s constantly gripping.
Both of these scenarios can benefit from more awareness and balance.

Having a clear sense of center extends beyond muscle strength - it has the potential to influence how we carry ourselves, how we perceive our own capacity, and how we interact with the world around us.

I currently have two opportunities for perinatal core and movement education, both at @form_and_flow
- The Perinatal Flow Series, Wednesdays @ 12p (through March)
- The Prenatal and Postpartum Workshop, Saturday, February 8, 2-4p.
